Christmas was extra special for a Wilmington Island family this year after they found their beloved dog on Christmas Eve.

Sugar went missing two months ago after she jumped out of a truck while on a hunting trip with her owner in Cordele, Ga.

Her owners were desperate to find her. They placed an advertisment in a Cordele newspaper with hopes of bringing Sugar home.

Finally, Sugar's family got the call they were hoping for. Someone in Cordele had seen Sugar's picture in the newspaper and called the family.

Sugar's family was relieved to find out the dog was actually theirs. She was turned over to the Cordele Humane Society, where Sugar's owner made the three-hour trip to pick her up on Christmas Eve.

Michael Foran, Sugar's owner, said that bringing her home was the perfect Christmas gift.

"It was unbelievable. Sugar talked to us in dog talk for hours. We were very excited, she's back home, and it's a Christmas present money just can't buy," Foran said.

Foran said he is taking Sugar to the vet to be checked out. Sugar is one of two dogs the family owns.
