SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Shoppers headed to stores Wednesday for after Christmas sales and to return gifts.
According
to the National
Retail Federation, the day after Christmas is one of the top five shopping days
of the year. Discounts aren't typically as big as on Black Friday - the number
of items on sale is usually greater.
Now is the time when consumers
can expect to see big price drops on TVs, tablets, digital cameras, smartphones
and clothes.
Becky Penick said she
was shopping with the gift cards she received and taking advantage of sales.
The US Postal Service,
UPS and FedEx are expected to be swamped with returns.
During
the first week of January, UPS said it expects to handle 2 million packages
that are consumers returning gifts they received.
