People against a plan for a new Atlanta Falcons stadium protested outside the Georgia Dome Sunday.
Members and staff of the group Common Cause Georgia handed out flyers encouraging people to oppose public funding of a new Falcons stadium.
The group says they want an independent economic study and a 90-day public review period before the final contract is agreed upon.
Common Cause Georgia Executive Director William Perry said, "We are out here trying to get Falcons fans to raise up, raise up their voices and stand against public funding of what we are calling billion dollar stadium."
The group said public input in the project has been ignored and they want the Falcons and the Georgia World Congress Center to change that.
They say they are not against having a new stadium, they just don't want public funding available for the project unless the public gets to weigh in. They say the money could be better used for public improvements like infrastructure, MARTA, traffic or water and sewer.
