Authorities investigate crash, hit-and-run

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Authorities are investigating a crash that took place around 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chatham Pkwy and Veterans Pkwy in Savannah.

Metro police say they are trying to figure out if the red car in that crash was also involved in a hit-and-run earlier Tuesday on W Gwinnett St.

Police say a child was hit but was not badly hurt. The child's mother told police that the driver got out of the car, gave the child $20 and then took off.
