SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

It was a New Year's morning surprise for two local families as they welcomed new babies.

Jaxon Poole was born at 12:33 a.m. to Matthew and Jennifer Poole at St. Joseph's/Candler. Jaxon weighed in at seven pounds, six ounces. He came a little early. Jennifer was only 37 weeks. Her water broke and they had to quickly drive in from Rincon on Monday night.

Not long after, Kaylie Elizabeth Inniss was born at Beaufort Memorial Hospital at 7 a.m. She weighed seven pounds, 14 ounces. Alex Inniss and Whitney Long are her proud parents.

"It was surprising actually," said Long. "She was supposed to be here on the 4th. It was a great gift for sure. I wouldn't change it for anything."

The odds of giving birth at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1 are 1 in 526,600.
