The fire that destroyed The Ultimate Detail Car Wash on Ga. Hwy 21 in Garden City on Dec. 27 has been ruled an arson, according to Glenn Allen, spokesperson for the Georgia Insurance and Fire Commissioner.
Garden City and Port Wentworth firefighters battled the massive blaze. Crews say the building was already fully engulfed when they got to the scene.
Garden City Fire Chief James Crosby said the owner of the car wash was cited on Dec. 26 for violations involving chemicals and the way he was washing the vehicles. The business was served a 30-day notice to clean up the situation or shut down.
Authorities are now looking for a suspect. They are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the arson hotline at 1.800.282.5804.
