Ohio man beaten on HHI released from hospital

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

An Ohio man was released from the hospital Thursday after being beaten on Hilton Head Island on New Year's Day.

The Beaufort Co. Sheriff's Office says two men punched and kicked the man in a shopping area on North Forest Beach Dr.

The two men were arrested by say they were defending themselves after the victim attacked them.

The injured man was taken to Memorial in Savannah.
