GBI investigates allegations into Chatham Co. Coroner

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is working on an investigation into former Chatham County Coroner James Metts.

The probe involves reimbursements for a secretary position that was never filled at the coroner's office. The county ordered an audit.

GBI spokesperson Catherine Sapp told WTOC that investigators are meeting with auditors and the county attorney.
