A house that has been hit with a second home invasion recently resulted in a man being shot Sunday night.
Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said Bryce Bell, 21, of the 1200 block of East 69th St., was critically injured when three men entered his home and asked for him. He was shot while talking to them, according to SCMPD.
Residents told WTOC that Bell tried to run and was shot in the chest.
"The first dude that jumped through the door had the gun and told everybody to get down. Bryce was by his room. He tried to run out the back door and we heard gun shots go off," said Elliott McDougall, witness.
A neighbor took Bell to Memorial University Medical Center. He immediately went into surgery. Bell was in stable condition on Monday.
The intruders were dressed in dark clothing and wore masks over their faces, according to police. Violent Crimes detectives continue to investigate.
This isn't the first time this home has been hit by thieves. This second time, the violence escalated.
