A Hilton Head Island teen has been arrested in connection with a December shooting on Marshland Rd. that killed Cesa Reyna-Reyna, 19.

Ja'quard Qu'vonte Aiken, 18, was arrested at his home on Aiken Rd. by investigators Monday afternoon on one count of murder and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

At approximately 7 p.m. Dec. 12, 2012, sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on Marshland Rd. in reference to a reported gunshot victim. Deputies made contact with Reyna, who was suffering from a gunshot wound, upon arrival. Reyna was found by his mother, lying in the front yard of their home.

Authorities transported Reyna to Hilton Head Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses told police that they saw a black male matching Aiken's description in the front yard with Reyna just prior to the shooting. Police also recovered a shotgun during a search of a nearby wooded area, leading to forensic evidence positively linking Aiken to the murder weapon.

Police do not believe any additional suspects were involved in the incident but the investigation remains active as the motive for the shooting is unknown. Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator SSgt. B. Chapman at 843.255.3417 or Crimestoppers.
