The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a minor accident involving a Jasper County school bus that took place around 6:30 a.m. Monday morning. The accident happened at the intersection of US 278 and Independence Blvd. at the traffic light at Exit 8 in Hardeeville.
According to authorities, there were no students on the bus during the accident. The accident happened when a 2009 tractor-trailer hit the back of the bus. The driver of the truck said his foot slipped off of the clutch, causing the truck to hit the school bus.
The truck driver was shown to be at fault but it is not known whether the driver received a citation for the accident.
