Parents, students, teachers and school leaders are Reclaiming the East Side. On Monday, Savannah-Chatham County Public School System district two and three representatives Dr. Dionne Hoskins and Mrs. Cornelia Hall held a town hall meeting focusing on the success and growth of schools on the east side of Savannah. They discussed schools like Spencer Elementary, Hubert Middle, and the School of Liberal Studies at Savannah High.
"We though this was a good time to start with these three because the question had been up about how we were going to reconfigure or reorganize those schools. We wanted the community to know we are not going to reconfigure them, we are just going to build on them as they are," said Hall.
Another Reclaiming the East Side town hall focusing on East Broad K-8, Shuman Elementary, Juliette Low Elementary, Myers Middle, Johnson High School and Jenkins High School will be held in April.
