Gas prices start 2013 off at record high

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Gas prices started 2013 at a record high and they've only gone higher since.

Across Georgia, people are paying more than the national average. It's the first time in a year that this has happened, and AAA says that upward trend will likely continue through the rest of the month.

The current average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Georgia is $3.32 per gallon. That is up 7-cents in a week. The national average is just under $3.30, which is up less than a penny in the last week.
