District attorney fires five prosecutors

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

According to Chatham County Human Resources Director Michael Kaigler, new district attorney Meg Heap fired Nathanael Wright, Bessie Walthour, Jeff Felser, Arvo Henifin and Jeff Alls just three days after she took office.

Heap has said the firings were not easy but it was something that needed to be done as she gets ready to launch a major crimes division on Feb. 1.
