SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Savannah residents will get a chance to participate in lifesaving cancer research Wednesday.
The American Cancer Society is hosting a cancer prevention study kick-off event, and is looking for anyone interested in spreading the word about the importance of participating in this historic nationwide study that will help researchers prevent cancer.
The goal is to recruit 75 community champions and enroll at least 400 participants.
The kickoff event will take place at the Savannah Civic Center on the 2nd floor. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. with breakfast served at 7:30 a.m. and a one-hour program presented at 8 a.m.
