EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -
An Effingham County
judge granted a woman accused of child cruelty $20,000 bond on Wednesday morning. She posted bond and
is out of jail.
Laperia
Mydell, 23, of Rincon, the mother of a toddler who was hit by a vehicle on New
Year's Eve, was arrested Tuesday.
The Effingham County
Sheriff's Office said she left her 3-year-old son alone in an apartment and
went to the Parker's across Highway 21 in Rincon. The boy tried to follow his
mom across the busy road when he was struck by a car.
Mydell
was charged with first-degree cruelty to children.
The judge said
ordered Mydell not to have contact with her son and to cooperate with the Division
of Family and Children Services.
