A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday for several Coastal Empire and Lowcountry areas.
The advisory has been issued for these counties in the WTOC viewing area: Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, Liberty, Bulloch, Screven, Candler, Evans, Tattnall, Toombs, Appling, Bacon, Wayne, Glynn, Long, McIntosh and Ware counties in Georgia. It also includes these South Carolina counties: Jasper, Hampton and Beaufort.sa
Areas of dense fog will impact these areas. A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile.
Poor visibilities will create hazardous driving conditions. Navigation in the Savannah harbor may also be hampered.
The National Weather Services recommends slowing down while driving and using your low-beam headlights and leaving plenty of distance ahead between other vehicles in case of a sudden stop.
