HMS Bounty
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
The U.S. Coast Guard will hold a
formal hearing over the sinking of the HMS Bounty.
The ship sank off the coast of North Carolina
during Hurricane Sandy. One crew member was killed
the captain is still missing, but is presumed dead. The Coast Guard has set a hearing for Feb. 12 in
Portsmouth, Va., to investigate the facts surrounding the sinking.
The Coast Guard may also develop
recommendations over the safety of similar vessels.
The daughter of Savannah City Councilwoman
Mary Ellen Sprague was on board ship, but she did make it off safely.
