Folks in Bluffton gathered Thursday to address crowding at lowcountry schools. The school district says it is extremely unlikely that 9th graders will fit in H.E. McCracken Middle School next year and they may have to move to Bluffton Middle School.
"The funding of a referendum to build a new building or wing wont come over night so we need to come up with a quick solution or semi permanent solution to house the upcoming students," said Lisa Lucas, Bluffton.
"It is crucial. We have got a short time limit. We have got to make some decisions. We are bursting at the seams here in Bluffton," said Mary Cordray, Beaufort County School Board, District 8.
A committee is researching short and long term solutions and will present their recommendations to the school district in March.
