Police investigate shooting in Garden City

GARDEN CITY, GA (WTOC) -

Police are investigating a shooting that took place around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 4100 block of 3rd St. in Garden City.

According to Garden City Capt. Gil Ballard, the victim, a 20-year-old male, was transported to Memorial Medical. The victim is in very serious condition and scheduled to go into surgery Friday.

Ballard says a stolen vehicle was found around the corner from the shooting, about a block away on Oak St. The car crashed into a ditch and was abandoned.

Authorities are not releasing the man's name yet.
