SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
The city of Savannah is aiming to give neighborhoods a stronger voice in what kind of art is created around their homes.
The city is speaking specifically about murals and giant paintings on walls of businesses in public view. They say murals are growing in popularity.
If a group submits a request for a mural, council wants the site and monument guidelines to be revised to guarantee not only a public notification but neighborhood associations be contacted directly.
City officials say one mural has already been turned down and must come back with changes.
