Police Investigate Garden City Homicide

About 5am this morning, residents around Chatham City apartments in Garden City reported the sound of gunfire. When police arrived, they found a car on Harley Drive with the driver still at the wheel. They called for an ambulance and after a closer look found the man had a gunshot wound to his head.

It appears he was shot while the car was in motion. The driver apparently lost control of the car and it crashed into a trailer. EMTs pronounced the victim dead at the scene and detectives were called out. There is an apparent a bullet hole in the windshield.

Residents in the area are now being interviewed by detectives. As is common in cases like this, the victim's body will be sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy and detectives will release the name of the victim after relatives have been notified.
