HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who was captured on video surveillance using a stolen credit card.

A 92-year-old woman reported the theft of her wallet on Jan. 10. She said she thought her wallet had been stolen while shopping at the Festival Center Publix's the day before, according to the sheriff's office.

Video surveillance showed a black female taking the victim's wallet from her purse, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim told the sheriff's office that she had asked the woman for help getting an item from the shelf at Publix. Then she took the victim's wallet from her purse, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim did not realize her wallet was missing until she tried to pay for her groceries. The suspect had since left the store.

Investigators obtained more surveillance footage that captured the woman using the stolen credit cards at the Belk's at Shelter Cove to charge nearly $2,000 in unauthorized purchases.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information regarding the pictured individuals to contact either Investigator Cpl. D. Seifert at 843.255.3414 or CrimeStoppers.
