Police investigate shooting of 2-year-old boy

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating the shooting of Jeremiah Rhodes, 2, of Savannah, that took place Sunday.

After the 2:46 p.m. shooting, Jeremiah was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening wounds. He is still being held at Memorial for observation.

Detectives were told that Jeremiah picked up a gun that was left in a drawer and it fired.

The investigation into the shooting in ongoing.
