CAT building evacuated after small gas leak

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Chatham Area Transit building on E Gwinnett St. in downtown Savannah was evacuated Monday due to a gas leak. Surrounding residential buildings were not evacuated.

According to officials, service workers on the side of the building hit one of the lines, creating a small gas leak.

The leak was fixed shortly after the building was evacuated.

The Disabled Veterans of Beaufort and the Kiwanis Club put the flags up Friday morning. They do this every year on the Friday before Memorial Day to honor the men and women who gave their lives to defend the country.
