Council approves first reading to amend Bluffton fire budget

BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

They are one step closer to hiring new fire fighters in Bluffton. This would be good news for home owners since more fire protection usually means lower insurance rates.

On Monday, Beaufort County Council approved the first reading of the plan to hire 24 fire fighters and put another half a million dollars into the budget for salaries and overtime.
