Gators found near Bluffton Comfort Inn

Three baby gators swim near drainage pipe (Source: Island Packet)

BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

A mother gator and 16 to 18 hatchlings were reportedly found in a tidal runoff area near the Comfort Inn in Bluffton.

This would not be out of the ordinary in April, but Critter Management says gators are not supposed to be in the area in January.

Joe Maffo of Critter Management says he does not have tags to remove them yet from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that metro Savannah's unemployment rate declined to 7.1 percent in April, down three-tenths of a percentage point from 7.4 percent in March.
