Claxton Mayor Luther Royal

EVANS CO., GA (WTOC) -

Testimony is under way in an Evans County courtroom.

Claxton Mayor Luther Royal is on trial on insurance fraud charges. Authorities say he tried to defraud the company that insures is business.

Prosecutors say Royal presented claims that in 2004 he suffered an injury that prevented him from doing many of the jobs associated with his refrigeration business.
