Police report: officer at fault in wreck

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A woman in a truck who was involved in a wreck Tuesday with a Savannah-Chatham Metro Police cruiser has been released from the hospital.

The police officer was responsible for the crash because he took his eyes off the road, according to a police report.

The officer told investigators he looked down to get a drink of water when the truck in front of him came to an abrupt stop.
