SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
The historic First Bryan Baptist Church will celebrate its 225th Church Anniversary on Sunday.
Several events will take place as part of the church's milestone.
Church members will put on the production "Bashed but not broken, on a Heavenly mission". The play is about the church's founder and its congregation during the period of slavery.
The production was written and directed by First Bryan members Deacon Van Lewis and Sis. Sharon Aikens. It takes place at 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
The anniversary celebration starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday with guest church Temple of Glory with Bishop Matthew M. Odum. On Thursday, there will be guest church First Jerusalem with Pastor Gregory Tyson.
The anniversary culminates at 11 a.m. Sunday with Rev. Aaron M. James Sr.
The church is located at 575 West Bryan St. in historic Yamacraw Village.
