HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) -

The Third Infantry Division will honor our fallen heroes Thursday by holding a Warriors Walk tree dedication ceremony.

Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will honor fallen soldier Sgt. Jason M. Swindle, 24, of Cabot, Arkansas, who died Sept. 20, in Panjwa'l, Afghanistan, from injuries suffered when he encountered enemy small arms fire.

Swindle was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armor Brigade Combat Team, 3rd ID.

The addition of the memorial tree for fallen soldier Swindle will now bring the total number of trees on Warriors Walk to 444. The Eastern Red Bud trees planted on Warriors Walk serve as a living monument to our soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
