Despite the unseasonably warm temperatures lately, it's hockey season in Savannah.
The Savannah Tire Hockey Classic returns for a 15th year this weekend with 6 of the south's most exciting college teams and some great rivalries hitting the ice with hopes of winning the Thrasher Cup along with bragging rights for an entire year.
On Thursday, South Carolina and The Citadel will drop the puck at 7:30 p.m. to start the tournament. Then on Friday and Saturday, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida and Florida State will all battle it out at the ice arena at the Savannah Civic Center.
