A Statesboro family welcomed home a new addition to their family Saturday night from nearly half a world away.
Jason and Allison Brown returned home after spending two weeks in Russia with their adopted daughter, Hadley.
The couple began the adoption process in 2010, but late last year, the Russian government shut down the adoption channels to the United States in response to the United States' stance on human trafficking in Russia.
17-month old Hadley is one of the few children up for adoption allowed to leave.
"They couldn't tell us if we were really going to be able to bring our little girl home or not," said Jason Brown.
"But in the beginning, God started this process with us. He's the one who led us in this direction. He's the one who helped us go down this path. We trusted that He would help us bring our little girl home."
Hadley is one of only six children on the list to possibly come to the United States from Russia.
