2nd annual Golf Forum in Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

The 2nd Annual Hilton Head Golf Forum presented by Palmetto Dunes Golf Academy and Hilton Head Hospital is set to tee off.

The forum is designed to lower scores and improve health in an interactive, informative and entertaining way. Topics such as swing mechanics, club fitting, exercise and the mental part of the game will be discussed. .

Clyde Johnston, award winning golf course architect, and Mike Murphy, PGA Tour/ USGA Rules Official, will present.

Dr. A. Thomas Bundy, board certified dermatologist with the Hilton Head Hospital, will talk about daily precautions people of all ages can do to protect their skin from the heightened risks of prolonged sun exposure, which is one the most preventable causes of skin cancer.

The forum takes place Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm at the Palmetto Dunes Centre Court Conference Center at 20 Carnoustie Road, Hilton Head Island.

Cost for the event is $5.00 and will benefit Boys and Girls Club Junior Golf and Special Olympics Golf. 

For reservations, call 843-785-1138 with a free gift being given to the first 40 people to make reservations.

    People gathered at E. Shaver's bookstore in downtown Savannah for a book signing of Larry Peterson's newly published book, "Deadly Dust".

     The book explores the Imperial Sugar refinery explosion 10 years ago where 14 people were killed and more than 3 dozen injured. It is the first full study of the explosions and fire at the Imperial Sugar Refinery, including first-person interviews, court records and hundreds of government documents.
