SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah Chatham Metro Police say they found a 12-year-old boy with mental disabilities who disappeared from his residence Sunday night.

Rahim Smiley left his home near Pennsylvania Ave. and Skidaway Rd. and did not return. The Smiley family called and reported him missing shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday.

Rahim was found not long after WTOC broadcast the search during the 11 p.m. news.

Police say a samaritan noticed Smiley walking around 12:45 a.m. on MLK Blvd. and 32nd Street, picked him up and drove him to Metro Headquarters. Officials say they did check the samaritan extensively to make sure he was not involved.

Smiley has now been reunited with his family.
