CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Three people have been charged in connection with a robbery Sunday morning at a Burger King.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police West Chatham Precinct officers responded to an armed robbery at about 9 a.m. at the Burger King in the 4200 block of Ogeechee Road.

Sequoia Tinae Carter, 20, of Riverdale, Stephanie Strait, 36, and Roy Lewis Larkin Jr., 20, both of Savannah, were charged with armed robbery.

Officers arrived in the front and back of the restaurant as the three suspects drove off in a red Saturn, according to police. Passers-by pointed out the car and its location. Police followed the car until it stopped behind business nearby. They were taken into custody. Cash stolen during the robbery and a weapon were recovered, according to police.

Police said Larkin was identified as the gunman who went in to Burger King and robbed it. Carter worked at the Burger King and Strait drove the getaway car, according to police.

Violent Crimes detectives from SCMPD's robbery unit continue to investigate.
