WASHINGTON (WTOC) -

In the midst of thousands at the inauguration ceremony were several folks from Long County.

About 50 people travelled by bus to the nation's capitol on Sunday for a front row seat at President Obama's second inauguration.

Most of those folks made the journey all the way from Savannah, Liberty County and Baxley.

Dwight Newbold, of Midway, said he missed the president's first inauguration and promised himself to make it to Washington DC this time no matter what.

"It's pretty incredible being here this afternoon, happening on MLK day and seeing the president inaugurated for another term, a lot of excitement," Newbold said.

The group, along with about seven other buses, started the trip back to Savannah after the parade.
