The Beaufort Voices, Beaufort High School's choral group, returned to class Tuesday after competing at the WorldStrides Heritage Inaugural Music Festival. The group, led by music teacher Jordan Norris, brought home the title of best overall choir with the highest overall score. An honor they say is unforgettable.
"I was nervous, but I was also very excited because I knew what we were about to perform would be very touching to everyone and that the three songs would be touching to us as well." Said Junior, Olivia Durbin.
Their achievement at the nation's capital qualified the Beaufort Voices for a performance at Carnegie Hall in 2015. They also got to attend the second inauguration of President Obama.
This was the school's second time performing at the Inaugural Music Festival. The last time was back in 2005 during the inauguration of George W. Bush.
