Teen fatally shot in Windsor Forest

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are investigating a shooting that took place at about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Sharondale Road.

Police said Evan Colquitt, 17, was shot multiple times after an altercation. Colquitt died from several gunshot wounds at Memorial University Hospital.

"I was sitting in my living room watching television when I heard at least five or six shots," neighbor Bryant Blake said.

Other neighbors also said they heard the shots. Some neighbors said the house near where the shooting happened has had a lot of police activity over the past year.

They recalled seeing cars coming and going from the home.

"I'm not sure what has been going on there, but I sure have seen a lot of police there," neighbor Tamara Dresch said.

Neighbors say the Windsor Forest neighborhood has changed over the years and is not as safe as it once was.

"You know south side used to be quiet when I was a kid. But now, there is a lot of activity in Savannah all together. It really doesn't matter what part of town you stay in," Blake said.

If you have any information about the shooting, you are asked to call any of the following numbers:

  • Savannah CrimeStoppers - 912.234.2020
  • Metro Police Dept. - 912.651.6675
