Two rooms of a mobile home on Dublin Road are destroyed in a fire.
POOLER, GA (WTOC) -
A representative from the state fire marshal's office will be investigating a house fire at a mobile on in Pooler.
It broke out at before 11 a.m. at a mobile home on Dublin Road.
Pooler Fire Dept. Chief Wade Simmons told WTOC that the fire started on the outside of the building and that the laundry room and a bathroom on one end of the home were destroyed. He said the fire appears to be suspicious.
"Right now, we're waiting for the investigator from the state fire marshal's office to get here. So, he's got about a 10-minute ETA. We got the call at about 11:10 a.m. When we arrived, we had fire coming from the left side of the trailer. After we arrived on the scene, in about 7 minutes we had the fire under control and basically out. We had the fire confined to kitchen and laundry room area on the outside of the house there. Some of the stuff we found there appeared suspicious so we notified our detectives with the Pooler Police Dept," Simmons told WTOC.
Firefighters extinguished the flames. The renters were not home at the time, but the mobile homeowner arrived at the fire scene.
