Projects in works at DeRenne, Abercorn

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Redevelopment is under way near DeRenne Avenue and Abercorn Street.

The Krystal's fast food restaurant there closed recently. City of Savannah spokesman Bret Bell said the J.C. Lewis family has plans to demolish the former Krystals and build a new, smaller one in its place. A CVS is also going up in that area.

The family has only presented preliminary plans to city officials.
