Goodwill is getting a new start in the Historic District. They have moved to a new location on Broughton St. to give them more space. The ribbon cutting marked a new chapter for the store, which had been at its former location since the 1980s. Officials with Goodwill was the move will help them tremendously.
"It means growth for us, a promise for a new and brighter future and the ability to serve more people in the community. The downturn of the government and state allows us to be independent," said Coni Curtas, VP of donated goods and retail service, Goodwill.
Curtas says Goodwill helped 2,200 people last year and placed nearly 1,400 people in jobs.
