Students from West Chatham Elementary competed in a spelling bee on Thursday. Almost 20 capable spellers went many rounds, each seeking the chance to advance to the district spelling bee.
The winner was fourth grader Mya Willimas, whose brother Nio won at West Chatham the last couple of years and went on to win the district spelling bee last year.
Fifth grader Jailyn Moore finished a strong second.
