One candidate's calling for a whole new election. Incumbent Chatham County commissioner Jeff Rayno lost his seat to Helen Stone by fewer than 100 votes.
The problem is the district. Lawmakers changed the lines this year, so some voters may have wound up with the wrong ballots.
"When people got to the polls, there were told, 'No, you're in the fourth,' when actually, they were in the first," Commissioner Rayno said. "And some people were forced to vote in the fourth when actually there were in the first."
Rayno's asking for a new election. That could cost between $3,000 and $4,000. The voter registration office is still trying to find out what caused the mistakes on the voter list.
