Special election held for Beaufort Co. Council District 9 seat

BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

Bluffton voters are choosing between two candidates to fill the Beaufort County Council District 9 seat vacated by now state representative Weston Newton.

Attorney Tabor Vaux faces businessman and longtime youth athletics coach Mark Lawson.

With no democrats in the race, the winner Tuesday will be elected if no write-in candidates emerge by Feb. 2. Polls close at 7 p.m.
