Vaux wins Beaufort Co. Council District 9 seat

BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

Unofficial results form the Beaufort County Council District 9 special election are in.

Voters have chosen Tabor Vaux to fill the seat. Vaux, an attorney, defeated businessman and longtime youth athletics coach Mark Lawson by a wide margin.

With all eight precincts reporting, Vaux captured 64 percent of the vote to Lawson's 36 percent.

A hearing to certify the results will be held Thursday morning.
