Savannah woman shot in front of apartment

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police a shooting Tuesday night that left a Savannah woman shot in front of her apartment.

Crystal Williams, 31, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to Memorial University Medical Center.

Downtown Precinct patrol officers were in the neighborhood on another call when they heard gunshots and found the woman wounded in the 400 block of West Park Avenue, according to police.

Officers were told a man exited a car, fired at a small group talking in front of the apartment at about 8:55 p.m. and got back into the car that took off.

Violent Crimes detectives from SCMPD continue to investigate the shooting.
