SUV catches fire on I-16

A SUV caught fire along I-16 westbound.

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Traffic was slow going during Friday morning's commute on Interstate 16 westbound.

An SUV caught fire just west of the Dean Forest Road exit.

Fire crews responded, got things under control and cleared the road pretty quickly.

On Friday, parents lined the Pine Barren Road, trying to retrieve their kids. The middle school students were relocated to West Chatham Elementary School after a suspicious package was found at West Chatham Middle School.
