BBQ sale helps Evans County deputy

CLAXTON, GA (WTOC) -

Off-duty sheriff's deputies and workers at Harry's BBQ smoked and wrapped 500 Boston butts to be picked up or delivered Friday afternoon.

All money raised will help Deputy Felton "Duck" Brewton with medical expenses related to kidney failure and dialysis. Brewton is currently on the list for a kidney transplant if a donor is found.

In addition to selling 100 percent of the butts, organizers said many people made donations to Brewton's fund.

Anyone who would like to donate can contact the Evans Co. Sheriff's Office at 912.739.1611.
