LADY'S ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -
A lowcountry middle school was placed on lockdown Friday after authorities say bullets were found on campus.
They say a student at Lady's Island Middle School told a staff member that another student brought bullets and possibly a gun to school.
Beaufort police officers and sheriff's deputies searched the school and discovered a seventh grade boy did in fact bring 17 22-caliber bullets to school but he did not bring a gun.
They say he found the bullets at his grandfather's house.
He and three other seventh graders were charged with disturbing schools.
